My paintings of men wrestling and fighting are based on the latent violence, aggression and sensuality in everyday interactions as manifest in the roughhousing common between boys. It is a form of play that seems imminently poised to lose its playful nature. The paintings are a contemplation of aggression in our interactions, within ourselves and in our society.
