About Toni

Toni Silber-Delerive attended Philadelphia College of Art and now lives in Manhattan, New York.

Her interest in graphic design developed as she came to realize that it shared many of the same elements as her paintings. Working at various New York design studios eventually led her to establish her own creative marketing communications firm, ToniDesign.

Her colorful and bold aerial landscapes show the world from a new perspective. By flattening the picture plane they reduce details to strong graphic images. Working through the lens of the camera, her paintings capture the moment and let the image tell a universal story about a place or experience. The strong shadows hint at a certain time of day, at the same time creating the feeling of a familiar but distant landscape.

Silber-Delerive still works for selected clients, but her main focus is painting. Her work is represented in private and corporate collections and has been featured in many exhibitions.

"I Find Toni's work fascinating. I especially like her aerial views. I enjoy trying to identify different structures in her paintings."

"Great concept to see the world from above! The variety of approaches shows an exploration of the idea. The figurative work is also well done."

"REALLY like your work! your landscape paintings attract me the most, but i do love your figurative work too.. They totally hold my eye and nothing at all boring about them! i would LOVE to have one and could care less where else they are hung lol!"

"When I saw the 1st painting... thought to myself, "where is that place." Looked closer and saw it was a painting and opened this page to see what it had about the artist. These are really neat representations. =1 for me. Something the description did not state... am certain this lady is concerned about water being expressed in her art. 1. the water tanks on top of the buildings in the first painting of urbia... 2. the pools behind the houses in the second painting. Which leads me to the question...? "Why don't folks build those beautiful swimming pools in their front yard?""

"I think a great use of block colours in the work but i wouddn't hang it on my wall personally, but would briten up a dark area in a good way"

"Whimsical and fun. The urban landscape is particularly inviting. The suburban aerial is less inviting, but I suppose so is the subject."

"I like her work - especially the figurative paintings shown on her website. It does concern me that her work is displayed in corporate settings. This is NOT a plus."

"Very nice. Looks like the Upper Westside. Very much like looking out the window of the Beacon Hotel when we visit NY."

"simple and nice."
