Amy Lincoln received an MFA from Temple University, Pennsylvania. Prior to that she studied at Brandeis University and University of California.
Lincoln’s primary influences are Renaissance artists such as Hans Holbein, Jan Van Eyck, and Petrus Christus.
Her still lives and portraits represent observed people and things, but also the ‘timeless, hermetically sealed cave’ of her mind. Windows and mirrors serve as portholes into this space, whereby the subject’s reflection has a life of its own.
Lincoln lives in Brooklyn, New York. Her work has been exhibited across the east coast.
