About Pete

Pete Watts was born in 1984 in Vermont. In 2006 he received a BFA in Printmaking from the Rhode Island School of Design and he still lives in New York at present.

Watts’s work explores man’s relationship with the natural world by depicting technological systems essential to us, as well as the temporal, elemental and entropic forces that pose a constant threat. Rendered in painstaking detail and unframed, the works themselves express a sense of vulnerability not unlike to the fragile equilibrium that sustains human life on the planet.

"Oops my comment got cut off. What I wanted to say was I imagine your roots in Vermont have a lot to do with how you conceptualize the art you create."

"This is inspired! I imagine your roots in Vermont have a lot to do with how you. The connection with nature is here. Wonderful. You do us proud! From your home State of Vermont."

"this is an amzing picture, purely unique"

"Would work well in textbooks, not sure if it translates too well as an original or very interesting art form. Perhaps if there where other things going on besides just dimensional topographical drawings then it might spark something more. They leave me feeling empty, cold and bored."

"The top pic looks like a yummy piece of lasanga, and the other one "is a spicy meatball" (heavy italian accent. TGIF"

"yes the drwaings are beautiful but it doesnt seem to have emotion or a motive to even be there, but u hav some real raw talent good job."

"I'M NOT SURE WHAT SOME PEOPLE DEFINE AS ART BUT FOR ME THIS IS GRRRREAT. I THINK ART COMES FROM WITHIN AND IT'S OBVIOUS I MAY SEE YOU SOMEDAY AT AN EARTH DAY CELEBRATION. KUDOS FROM COOL."

"Especially well done graphic art. It could be taken from its commercial world and have a pleasing aesthetic on the wall of home or gallery and, yes, then a viewer's higher thought and implication could be applied. Very fine graphite work!"

"Very interesting work."
