About Linda

We are all of us hybrids. Each one of us is a walking amalgamation of experiences from a plethora of differing sources. We simultaneously embody sets of incongruities; we have experiences rooted from a range of disparate origins. Coming to terms with our own personal hybridity is a lifelong pursuit of self-definition.

Through painting, I explore this notion of hybridity. Pre-existing forms are reconfigured and combined with my own intuitive gestures into works that redefine my relationship to the world. This investigation of hybridity manifests itself as abstract fields of colour with swirling shapes that float atop the surface. Geometric cuts of saturated colour interrupt the ambiguity of space while digitally manipulated forms contribute to the sense of a visual dreamscape. These paintings explore the fluctuating boundaries between abstraction, representation, and digitally-based art.

I also love to do abstract paintings/drawings. I think it's amazing that your mind can interpret thoughts and moods into shapes and colors. the two pictures above are incredible!! if you look at every detail behind the circles and lines in front, you can see how much effort was put into making the entire picture. it also has a TON of depth...looks like you could just walk right into the picture!! =]

second one is better

I love them both. Circles are one of the most simple and most powerful forms on this earth. I love this take on them. Beautiful

love the depth of the first one. beautiful work.

love the first one

first ones better

PS: WHILE SOME REGARD THE USE OF ALL CAPS AS 'SHOUTING,' I ASSURE YOU, THIS IS NOT MY INTENT. RATHER, I HOPE YOU'LL BEAR WITH THE KEYBOARD LIMITATIONS QUADRIPLEGIA IMPOSES. THANX.

IT'S AMAZING ! WERE I ASKED TO INTERPRET THESE 2 PAINTINGS ABOVE, I WOULD HAVE USED THE EXACT SAME WORDS AS THE ARTIST [USED ABOVE] WHEN SPEAKING OF HER WORK. NOT ONLY A TERRIFIC ARTIST, BUT AN EQUALLY ADEPT WRITER. I, TOO, WISH I COULD AFFORD TO HANG THEM IN MY HOME. I WOULD MAKE ROOM.

i'm not really a good judge of art but i like looking at these

Ohooops...just trying to correct and got repeat. Actually, they both remind me of diagrams I've seen on NOVA to help visualize diminsions (lst) and gravity (2nd).

Honestly exquisite art. I with I could buy both! (Truly?)They speak to my disparate origins helping me to come to terms w/my own personal hybridity....is there a place or source these people go to seek to reveal and define themselves and others with their art?
