Joon Park believes that art is a manifestation of mind, body, and spirit. His work explores the ambivalent relationship between humanity and nature.
As a child, Park was fascinated by the fantasy and teachings of Korean folktales. With influence from a variety of admired artists, Park’s work is derived from his insight into both mundane and transcendent narratives.
Park’s work is mainly lowbrow and surrealistic, but he harbors an ever-growing interest in many styles of art. Intrigued by the ephemeral nature of the world, Park strives to portray human potential through his craft, while leaving a sense of auspicious ambiguity.
