Kai has been living in Los Angeles (originally from NY) for the past four years. He has a background in fine art & video and moved to LA where he completed the graduate film program at Art Center College of Design. Rather than focus on file, he is instead incorporating video and cinematic elements into his paintings.
The subject of his work is the portrait/figure and the universal emotion carried with it. Drawing inspiration from cinema, fashion photography and silent films, Kai fuses video and stop motion with his paintings to create a new experience for the viewer, showcasing the artistic process as well as the work itself.
