About Joshua

Joshua Liner founded Joshua Liner Gallery in 2008 in New York City’s Chelsea Arts District. His gallery presents an exciting roster of established and emerging artists from North America, Asia, and Europe.

Showcasing an eclectic range of mediums and approaches, the gallery’s artists reveal influences as disparate as the urban street, Asian pop culture, folk art, music and sound theory, the Old Masters, advertising, and digital design. The work of gallery artists is stylistically diverse, featuring figurative realism, surrealist and futurist fantasy, and geometric abstraction, among other offerings.

Joshua Liner Gallery represents the leading edge of contemporary art practices—new media, mixed-media sculpture, and collective models of production—as well as a focused program of contemporary easel painting.

David Ellis

Brooklyn, NY

"

I think David Ellis is one of the most talented artists working today. I know that's a big statement, but David just has artistry oozing out of him. He works in so many different styles and mediums, and really defines what a well rounded artist could be. Working in installation, video, sculpture, and painting, there is not much that he can't do, one way or another. He's also a living performance piece, David never ceases to amaze me. David is definitely an artist's artist and I feel the best from him is yet to come, which is incredible and in some ways scary too.

Rob and Christian Clayton

Los Angeles, CA

"

Rob and Christian Clayton are huge influences on many artists working today, especially those coming out of Southern California. That two people can work on the same painting, without planning, or even discussing it, and have them be so successful, is nothing short of magic. The colors they use, the stories they tell, the work is truly unique and all their own. There is no mistaking a painting by the Clayton Brothers for anyone else's work, that's for sure.

Ian Francis

Bristol, UK

"

Ian Francis is an incredibly talented painter that I am thrilled to be working with. I love everything about what he does, and love to discuss his process with him, just don't ever expect a short answer from Ian, for anything. He's definitely not a guy who loves to talk about himself, just everything he is doing is really thought out and a lot more planned then one may think. The stories he is telling, the emotion he is capturing in these dramatic works, they really are beautiful snapshots of another world.

Richard Colman

Los Angeles, CA

"

I have been a big fan of Richard's work for a long time now. I have seen him go really big in regards to scale, or create really small, more intimate works, which are all equally successful. His use of color is fantastic and I really enjoy his "dirty" work as well. You know that every time he creates a body of work, there will be something new to it. Richard is constantly reinventing himself and I look forward to seeing what he comes up with next.

Kris Kuksi

Lawrence, KS

"

I distinctly remember the first time I saw Kris Kuksi's work. He sent a submission to my gallery back in 2005 when it was located in Philadelphia under the name Lineage Gallery. I was blown away, it was something I had never seen before, and was immediately intrigued by the work. The attention to detail is second to none. The concepts and ideas seemed so original to me. I knew this was a special artist and I asked him to participate in a group show that summer. We have been working together ever since and every time I see a new work I get the same feeling as the first time I saw one of his creations.
