About Nikki

Nikki Rosato received a BFA from University of Pittsburgh and is currently studying towards an MFA at School of the Museum of Fine Arts.

In her most recent series of paintings, Rosato turns human figures into “landmasses” to obscure their identity. This deliberate ambiguity reflects the haunting and ghost-like memories of a collective, rather than individual, conscience.

‘Our physical bodies are beautiful structures full of detail, and they hold the stories that haunt and shape our lives. The lines on a road map are beautifully similar to the lines that cover the surface of the human body,’ she says.

Rosato has won several awards, including the 2008 AJ Schneider Award, and her work has been exhibited across Pennsylvania.
