Lissy Elle, whose real name is Lissy Laricchia, lives and works in Canada. A young photographer, she has won herself an impressive online following through Flickr among others.
Elle says she takes pictures of ‘anything that will stay still long enough.’ Her influences are Las Vegas, Dr. Suess, and Chuck Palahniuk. These co-exist in her playful pictures with themes of childhood, magic, and make-believe. Get Back in Your Book, for example, depicts popular storybook characters escaping the book covers that entrap them.
Her work has been featured in Soura Magazine, G/IRL, and Be Magazine.
"The humor is well balanced with the women, acting unafected in a world that feels real, yet is unreal. To watch her pieces is contemplative and attracting. The small nuances in poses and expressions fills its purpose to make me want to linger and find out more about the scene. I know I can watch ”Creationism” without ever getting tired of it. Few people know the recipe of creating long lasting pieces and I salute Lissy for being one of them."
