About Rita

Rita Isabel is a student of fine art at Universidade de Lisboa in Lisbon, Portugal.

The Feculdade de Belas-Artes curriculum includes design, video, and multimedia, but Isabel focuses primarily on photography and illustration.

Her work depicts imaginary places and ghostly human and animal figures. She derives inspiration from the ‘frightening stories’ of Japanese myth.

In 2006, Isabel won several prizes for a group project.

"I really like this. I think she did a really good job in capturing the etherial qualities of a ghost. Although generally when you see a ghost you don't see the satin on the bed, the clothing is always very clear though including veils, footwear, etc. Good job and excellent capturing of how one really looks. I know this from a lifetime of experience. Excellent. Almost a peaceful quality. You can almost sense her emotions. Brilliant job."
