About Kenichi
Born in Kanazawa, Ishikawa, Japan, Kenichi is a graduate of the Kanazawa College of Art. In 2009 he had solo exhibitions at the Hilger Contemporary gallery in Vienna, Austria, the Mark Moore Gallery inSanta Monica, CA and at 2×2 Projects in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
In addition he has been regularly exhibited at the Pulse Contemporary and Geisai Art Fairs.
"I enjoy Kenichi Yokono's high contrast, comic book influenced incorporation of Japanese stereotypes into woodblocks but also the fact that the art IS the woodblock and no prints are actually made from the blocks."
