Amelia Carley was born and raised in Colorado where she was raised traveling through expansive landscapes and exploring geological formations of the American Southwest. Carley spent a year at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and, after transferring, received BAs in Psychology and Italian along with a BFA in Painting and Drawing from the University of Colorado at Boulder. She has participated in several Artist-in-Resident programs has exhibited at such venues including SOMArts in San Francisco CA, Hyperlink Gallery in Chicago IL, Colorado Photographic Arts Center in Denver CO, DATELINE Gallery in Denver CO, Curfman Gallery at Colorado State University in Fort Collins CO, amongst others. She is currently a candidate in the MFA program at the Ernest G Welch School of Art and Design at Georgia State University, where she was awarded the Dean’s Scholarship.
