About Winkler+Noah

30 portraits of children from two to eight years old, taken very naturally and transformed into dolls by a subtle play of retouching. The photo-symbol of the show, has already received two of the most important awards on the international photographic scene: American Photography of New York and publication in the volume ‘200 Best Photographers Worldwide” by Luerzers Archive.

An exhibit which becomes a starting point for reflection, sociological research and introspection, to better understand ourselves and the world around us. And to understand that the best present we can give to children is to let them be children.

"The concept is simple to a point of being trite. The "puppet-mouth" effect is missing dimension. All in all, I don't find these impressive from any standpoint."

"A good blend of the hilarious and the disturbing. I love the way one little element creates a jarring subtext."

"their little faces are lovely why not just go with that"

"I'm Creeped out"

"if you really look at it. the lighting doesn't need to be touched up because they're children. they are still pure but are beginning to see the world as their own, not through the eyes of others. in this case it seems the image portrays a society that has predestined the personality and opinion of a child. (photography doesn't always have to be about artistic lighting. it can be anything the photographer wants because one's mind can take it anywhere. who ever said there was a set criteria for creativity?)"

"I guess my first comment on the 19th was too direct since it was deleted, so here goes. Art should connect with the viewer. An average idea repeated 20 time is still average. These shots all say the same thing. The lighting has no character besides being flat and uninteresting. Photography, even if enhanced with photoshop, is all about the light and what it reveals."

"To me Art should make us think. And these photos did it for me. There is a painting I saw long ago, I believe it was titled Bambino Morte (please if anyone can correct me and/or provide the artist?). A beautiful rendition of a sleepting infant. The title made me look closer. There was a stab wound..the infant was dead, not sleeping. Creepy yes, but such an impact on the thought process."

"They look cute. In a creepy/cute kind of way."

"i agree with the fact that it is a good concept, and young children may be like puppets. However, this sort of art is simply done in photoshop, or possibly even paint; all you do is move a piece down. I rate it a good idea, but not quite enough work"

"It's a good concept... but I don't think that it's carried out very well. For example, the skin could be made to look like plastic, or at least remove the lines from around the eyes. The photography itself is very good, though."
