Antonio explains the work by saying, “Imagine a river made up of millions of flowing droplets. Those that follow push the former and all are flanked: there is one direction, one choice. The only possibility to free a drop from the unavoidable is to throw something into the water, so that, even if only for a moment, one of them can escape. For me that’s painting – and the painting’s task.”
