Shelly Mosman is a portrait photographer based in Minneapolis, MN.
Shelly explains her work by saying, “My goal in my portrait photography is to inspire exploration of a visual story. I transform my subject into a portrait where even they discover something new in themselves, To capture something not understood, something unpredictable, is what, for me, makes the image. People, their faces, personalities, personal style and their energy inspire me. I like things to be instant, as if the portrait has already been taken. The black backdrop enables me to shoot fast as it creates open space adding to the overall narrative. I rely on dark areas for many reasons. Once intrigued, ones imagination can easily roam the vastness of even the smallest of dark spaces.”
