Svetlana Bogatcheva is a luminary artist living and working between London & Brazil. Born in 1986 in St. Petersburg, Russia, she was raised in rural Finland.
Svetlana is currently taking up residency in Alto Paraíso de Goiás, Brazil working on a series of immersive light & sound installations named “White Light”.
For Svetlana, the play of light on these pieces is almost as important as the sculpted canvas itself. She believes that life, like light, exposes new or hidden parts of the self as it unfolds. Something obscured, not previously confronted, surfaces and demands attention. Through transcendence, we are both challenged and transformed. Something is healed and our characters are deepened.
