About Tytia

Tytia Habing is originally from Effingham, Illinois and received two separate university degrees, neither of which are photography related. That is where she picked up a camera for the first time with the intention of making something artful. The majority of her adult life has been spent living in the Cayman Islands and she only recently moved home to Illinois with her husband and son.

Tytia describes the work by saying, “Growing up on a farm at the edge of a woods gave me a great appreciation for the world around me. I roamed wherever I pleased, built forts in the woods, picked wildflowers in the pasture and caught craw-daddies in the crick. I have a great love for the outdoors and beautiful mother nature, and can usually be found out of doors. My son is taking over the jobs of fort building and craw-daddy hunting, but I’ll never give up the picking of wildflowers.”

pretty. I like how it's the reflection of the water which also looks like a night sky with stars and the way it's above the subject's head and her contemplative thought also makes it seem like all the water is the contents of her mind and those are bright ideas or wishes or something else magical on her mind.

Love the simplicity!

The composition and contrast with the water and the human is breathtaking.

I have been lucky to have Tytia photograph my sons and me, and the photos remain the best I have ever seen of my children. She captured them, as I see them and know them, in their many moods and moments. Tytia was the one who taught me photography is art, pure and simple and I love following her work as she continues to grow as the amazing artist she is.

I have admired Tytia's artistic work from the time I met her....and before she developed her love for photography.
