In 1979 Patricia completed her BFA with honors at Mount Allison University with a major in sculpture and drawing; a MFA from Concordia in mixed media an 1983, and a Dip. ED.from McGill in 1990. Patricia explains her work by saying, “‘Trans Canada Drive’ is a series of oil paintings that takes you on a drive across Canada. The images capture a fraction of a moment that is familiar to us all. A passing glance and passing attention while passing by.”

"I enjoy, obviously, the sense of motion here, but less obviously perhaps, the very real sense of time passing as well. Perhaps it is a product of our similar age and geography (BC, Canada et Wisconsin, US) but this piece tugs at my heart and hearkens back to countless childhood Sundays "going for a ride" with my parents and my little brother before energy concerns made that relatively innocent pastime a thing of the past. I love this, just love it. Thank you for sharing it."
