Gerardo Gonzalez, received a Bachelor in Fine Arts from the University of Texas- Pan American, and he is currently pursuing a Masters in Fine Arts at Pratt Institute. Some of his work has been exhibited locally and nationally. His work is created using oil or acrylic on canvas, a variety of metals, clay, plaster, various drawing materials, and other mixed media.
This series is a form of social documentary that focuses on human anatomy. Gerardo aims to create images that remind people of what they are beneath the skin by focusing on the beauty of the layers that compose the human body. It is meant to bring about a conscious acknowledgement of the body, as experienced from within. Understanding Man’s appearance underneath by analizing the structures of the individual components he reminds us of our fragility and of our nature.
