About Deth P.

Deth Sun paints small, exquisite pictures of hapless animals in elemental environments like a cloud or a lake or the sea. They’re simple, uncluttered and exquisitely heartbreaking. The characters are mostly cats, crows, or turtles and they all seem afflicted. Sometimes one creature peers out from inside another one. When somebody’s work touches me deeply, I can’t say much about it.

"i like his work because this is kind of like he is putting himself in places, buthe uses the black cat as himself. I like the way Roger Sadler said, "...Deth P. Sun's avatar or alter ego or star of his paintings, the black cat." I think it is kind of his alter ego or avatar. Although, it also may just be the tar of his paintings. But, regardless, I do love the "Gothic feel" of Deth P. Sun's art."
