About Fred

Fred Eerdekens is a Belgian artist whose work explores still uncharted realms of linguistics in the wake of post-structuralist thought.

He makes ‘semantic landscapes’ where meanings are endlessly modified. By moving around the objects, the viewer conducts the objects, twisting and turning shadows cast by them.

‘The topography of our mental landscapes has become increasingly intricate,’ says Eerdekens, whose work has been extensively exhibited in Europe and the US.

"Shown at galleries, presumably to be sold. I am in love with this work. Now I have to wonder how one could show them on one's own walls or are they essentially requiring a full installation?"
