About Joe

Joe Black creates detailed portraits from thousands of badges, each depicting images and icons, that range from the Vietnam War to Elvis Presley.

Made in China, a portrait is of a young Chinese soldier, was constrcuted using more than 5,500 toy soldiers. Most of the badges he makes himself and relate to the final product in some way. For example, his Superman portrait is made up of fast food corporation logos, to convey the idea that goodness has been defeated by our ever-growing need to consume.

‘If it’s small enough I’ll stick it down,’ says Black, who is a also a painter.

Unquestionably imagine that that you said. Your favorite justification seemed to be at the web the simplest factor to take into accout of. I say to you, I certainly get annoyed while folks consider issues that they plainly don't recognise about. You controlled to hit the nail upon the highest and also outlined out the entire thing with no need side-effects , people can take a signal. Will likely be back to get more. Thanks

I actually was commenting on another artist. Or so I thought.

very super creative with its tiny parts to make such an amazing work come together so nicely!!! i love these works!!! very cool!!!

awesome works! the whole concept is quite creative...AND I think the backgrounds look fabulous!!!! I have no idea what the hell Fil is talking about either...it doesn't even make any sense!!! try being more positive and supportive of these obviously extremely talented artists/designers PLEASE!!! The bio doesn't due the artist justice and "wasn't" is mispelled leaving the "s" out which just shows you that no one took the few minutes it takes to simply proofread and use the spell check! The artist and his work are worth making sure things like that are checked before being published on the internet on Google's homepage!!!

This is beautiful!

I like it , Keep working

More evidence of the cultural bankruptcy of modern Britain in the pop art.

I wonder if this guy paid someone to create that artist bio for him. I mean, these are very fun to look at and the idea of the process is very unique. But, lets take a second to have a seat and relax. Let your head cool off and condense. Great work, but have some humility.

I love the figures, althought the backgrounds could use some work.
