Neil Craver started out a painter and sculptor before becoming a photographer. He was moved in this direction by a growing interest in psychophysical effects of colors on the brain.
He is of the opinion that photography contains the intrinsic values of all other art forms. ‘This is the foundation of the origins of existence,’ he says. The resulting work is an exploration of his own facilities, elsewhere described by him as the pursuit of knowledge and ‘original thoughts’.
If objects are only made visible by photons, then everything is controlled by its capacity to capture light, says Craver. From this logic it follows that photography is the most faithful method of depicting the physical world.
