Born in Lincolnshire in 1975 he attended Grantham College of Further Education where he studied painting, drawing, graphic design, photography and sculpture. In 1993 he was accepted on to the Foundation course at Kingston University, he was then invited to join their Painting Degree course, which Ewen completed in 1997.
Since, he has been working in and around the Art and Design world for the likes of the National Gallery, Phillips Auctioneers and Bernard Jacobson Gallery. During this time he has installed, handled and scrutinized some of the most famous Artworks in the world.
In 2000 he moved to Nottingham, joining northern fashion brand ‘One True Saxon’, spending five years exclusively producing images for them. In 2006 he started working freelance and has gone on to produce T-Shirt prints for Paul Smith Jeans and Summer Sonic Festival, illustrated magazine articles and produced individual and commercial commissions for a wide range of clients.
