About Roland:
In the spring of 1999, Roland earned a BFA in illustration from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. In the years since graduating, he began a career in the video game industry as an environment/concept artist. His personal work has grown as well and he is represented by Gallery 1988 in LA and SF.

i love these, it feels like the whales are actually moving. especially good timing, as there is a gray whale in our marina right now.

OK, call me trite, I love this stuff. It is the kind of advanced conceptual accomplishment that I expect to come out of the Pasadena school. Unpretentious and nonchalantly profound.
