About Candace:
CJ Metzger paints in acrylics and collage blending narrative, surreal and whimsical imagery. Her work is increasingly influenced by her 5-year old daughter, fairy tales, and her observations of relationships between humans, nature & the environment.
The daughter of an artist and an aerospace engineer, and the granddaughter to artists/designers, CJ began creating art out of an uncontrollable need to communicate this innate visual energy. In doing so she found that people adored the character based and folk art inspired pieces and found them unique and endearing. Currently, CJ’s work is being sought after by galleries, and is being collected by all sorts of arts collecting types.. Her career continues to thrive in multiple directions including; exhibiting in numerous solo and group shows, collaborating with her artist sister Miss Mindy, designing vinyl toys, and writing & illustrating her own children’s book.

Your work is so powerful and mysterious and sad and beautiful all at once; from an old soul, I think.
Please keep sharing.

The first piece of work is so heart grabbing. I think the nose is a little unesscesary(pardon my spelling) but it is so interesting and out there. It looks like the type of art that my art teacher dislikes but it the type that just makes me want to just stop and take a long pause look away sigh than figure out why it is attracting my attention. The artwork kind of reminds me of the columbian artist Botero. His typeof art wasn’t to draw attention to the faces but the actual surroundings. I don’t know what your purpose is though. I’ll keep commenting so ttyl:D!

I don’t know why,but it reminds me of Hayao Miyazaki’s anime movies,that I’m in love with :)
I am a composer myself (or at least tryin’ to become one) and I love all kinds of art that realy comes from inside… Good luck to You:)

This is the first time I have seen your work. Your work is different but good. I have always herd that a lot of artist always paint from their heart. And if this is where your heart is, keep the good work! At least with your work I am really looking at something without guessing what it is. But have a good day! Snowstar
